What To Pretend To Know Today

Douglas Merritt measures what the reported Russia sanctions waiver does before a charge becomes an invoice. The Sanctions Liability Register holds 412 columns and 219 quote sheets, and its Forward Friction Allowance falls from 18.4 cents to 2.1 while every physical replacement line stays unchanged. The waiver changes a cell from may be charged to waived. It does not move a barrel, but it gives the risk a noun.
The Temporary Relief Calendar calls the remaining 16.3 cents reinstatement exposure because the zero has a review attached to it. Of 61 files opened Saturday, 58 quote sheets lower their friction line and three do not. The three have no field for a waiver, so their blank does not mean no risk and means nobody has written a noun.
Merritt opens sunday.xlsx and finds 38 earlier fees withdrawn before their effective date coded as zero. Column I now carries status of obligation, and the Friday row is the first marked waived before effective. The arithmetic stands; the desk's category changes. A permanent zero is a price. A temporary zero is a question with a calendar attached.
The control group is 41 non-oil import files carrying a possible levy but no sanction timetable. Their physical replacement lines and their friction lines do not move. The waiver supplies the date-shaped event the other files lacked. The desk's reference remains Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Working Paper 23-09, and the Sunday file enters row 1,313 with the correction in Column I.
The desk's conclusion is narrow. The waiver does not add physical supply in this file, but it changes how a fictional panel classifies a liability that never became payable. OOPS LOG stands at 917 entries as of Saturday at quarter past six in the morning, unchanged since the fourth of September; Odell's register still prints the claimed three thousand beside the desk's three hundred and eighty, and the two counts remain unreconciled.
