Trump Claims PGA Record for Longest Drive; Witnesses Unwilling to Dispute It

During a round at Bedminster, the President reportedly hit a 490-yard drive that went very far in a direction.

BEDMINSTER - Donald Trump claimed a new personal and possibly professional record Tuesday after driving a golf ball 490 yards, according to a scorecard, two aides, one caddy, and several witnesses who became less specific when asked follow-up questions.

The ball definitely left the tee box. It was observed traveling downrange with pace. Whether it came to rest 490 yards away depends on whether one includes roll, slope, optimism, and the cart path.

"It went far. I am comfortable saying that. I am less comfortable saying where it stopped." a playing partner

PGA officials said they do not certify presidential drives based on witness mood. The Trump team responded by submitting a second scorecard with stronger handwriting.

Kyle Saunders notes that sports are full of disputed measurements. He also notes that everyone upset about this story has not produced the ball.
